Circle Justice
Circle justice as you know is a new form of justice that decides what happens to a certain individual that has committed a crime. Circle justice is more set upon healing the offender and victim(s). Unlike our normal justice where you are judged non-guilty, or guilty, then sentenced to prison ect. Circle justice decides what will help both the offender and victim(s). And not only them but help create a safer community ect. for those living around the situation.
One case that is an example of circle justice is http://www.corr.state.mn.us/rj/documents/CircleofJustice.pdf . Four young adults committed the crime of mailbox bombings, and multiple window breaking in the area of Lake Elmo. Three of the four offenders were accepted to join circle justice, and had agreed to this. The sentence that was decided for the three was each would pay at least $1,000, and 100 hours of community service. They as well have written 29 apologies to victims, and have spoken to students about the effects of vandalism.
I personally believe that circle justice is a better form of justice. I find it can help our offenders better. Sending a person to jail sometimes won't always change the way the person thinks. They could simply go back out and commit the same things as soon as their jail sentence is over. This way circle justice gives that person a chance to start anew. But it's their choice if they want to take that. But I still believe that circle justice is a more calm and friendly way to deal with these kind of situations.
